Once again, it's time to bring "a galaxy far, far away" to Middleburg Heights, Ohio...

For one weekend, Lazer Xtreme's 10,000 sq. ft., multi-level arena will be transformed into a live-action Star Wars adventure filled with special effects, lighting, fog machines and music from the "Star Wars" movies. The idea is to give customers (mostly kids) the chance to play "Star Wars" with some of their favorite Star Wars characters provided by members of Rebel Legion and 501st.

In past years, this event has set box office records for LX and raised thousands of dollars for various charity organizations. Last year, the event helped The-Make-A-Wish Foundation grant the "wish" of one local boy to travel to Florida for Disney's Star Wars Weekends. This year proceeds will once again benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

www.midwestbase.com has a NEW look.

Many of you have noticed that the Great Lakes Base forum had gone through some changes over the past few months, this was the next step. It is a work in progress and there are plans to have new features added over the remainder of the coming year. One item is to have a Tour of Duty showing some photos of GLB Rebels in the trenches. Stay tuned for more to come.

The Great Lakes Base website is currently undergoing a face lift and in an effort to try to enhance the new style and look of the website there is one key element that we want to focus on.

That element is the men and women of the Great Lakes Base.

The Great Lakes Base has some of the BEST costumes in the Rebel Legion and we really want to make sure all visitors to the website have an opportunity to see the amazingly hard work and talent that goes into our member's costumes.

Remember, the photos have to be large, and lighting is crucial. Don't depend on regular, interior incandescent lightbulbs or the built-in flash. If you have reasonably near pro-quality photos or good outside shots, send 'em in!
